The Goodlark Educational Foundation Scholarships
In addition
to helping students search for other scholarships and aid to
pay for college, the Goodlark Foundation funds a limited
number of their own scholarships each year to students in
Dickson, Hickman and Humphreys Counties in Tennessee. Goodlark
scholarships are awarded to students
who have a strong desire to continue their education, who
demonstrate the ability and maturity needed to successfully
complete their chosen program, and who are in need of
financial assistance. All applicants must meet the basic
admission requirements of the school to which they are
applying and must have been a resident of Dickson,
Humphreys or Hickman Counties in Tennessee for a minimum of
one year prior to application.
For the
2007-2008 school year, the Foundation awarded 85
scholarships totaling $118,000 to area residents who are
pursuing a four-year college degree, a two-year Associate
Degree or who are participating in certificate programs at technical
schools. The recipients of our scholarships were both
recent high school graduates and older students who are
returning to school. Scholarship amounts ranged from
$500 to $2,000. In addition, $2,500 was given to the
five area high school valedictorians in the form of Dr.
James T. and Mary Ann Jackson Valedictorian Awards.
A
limited number of adult scholarships may still be awarded
for the 2007-2008 school year. Please request an
application by using the link below or by contacting
our office. Your request should indicate
the time period for which you are applying.
The
deadline to apply for scholarships for the 2008-2009 school
year will be March 31, 2008. Applications will be
available January 2, 2008. Graduating high school
seniors should obtain an application from, and return the
completed application to, their high school counselors.
Interviews for these candidates will be scheduled at area
high schools. Other applicants may request an
application using the link below. Those applications
should be returned directly to the Goodlark Foundation
offices.
